Patreon Update: November 2015
Welcome to my Patreon Update for November 2015. This is my monthly report of how my Patreon campaign is performing, as well as my chance to thank everyone for their ongoing support.
As always, let's get started with last month's earnings. Below you can see my transparency report regarding all the pledges that were received and processed for October.
October 2015 Earnings
Transitioning from September into October actually saw a slight increase in earnings. For those keeping track, below are the latest numbers:
- Pledged: $2,129.50
- Processed: $1,889.08
- Service Fees: $240.42
This month’s Patreon Update contains two important announcements, both of which I am excited to see happen. My campaign hasn’t changed all that much in recent months, so it’s about time to mix things up a bit.
Improvements in Transparency and Accuracy
First up, let’s talk numbers. Since launching my Patreon campaign last June, the general public could always see a number in relation to the total amount of pledges that I’ve received per month. Unfortunately, that number hasn’t always been accurate.
Factor in service fees and declined pledges, and the final number could be considered misleading— which isn’t fair to you or me. Because transparency is important, this has always bothered me. Thankfully, that is no longer the case.
As of this month, Patreon is now reporting accurate numbers on creators’ profile pages. For example, if you take a look at my page, you’ll see that my total amount in pledges has dropped since last month. That’s because this new number now reflects the amount after service fees have been deducted.
Of course, I’ll still handle declined pledges on my end, but at least numbers going forward will be far more accurate. Patreon, if you happen to be reading, thank you so much for making this change. As a content creator who appreciates transparency and accuracy, this is definitely a step in the right direction.
Introducing a New (Temporary) $2 Pledge Tier
Alright, so let’s move onto something I am very excited to share with everyone. This next change could be a game changer for my content — and who knows, perhaps the future of my Patreon campaign.
Today, I am thrilled to introduce a new pledge tier. Patrons who pledge $2+ will have early access to all my holiday videos throughout the remainder of the year. This includes Thanksgiving, Black Friday and yep, even Christmas.
Patrons last year had early access to my holiday content, and they seemed to really enjoy it — which is why I’m excited to extend this perk to those who are unable to pledge $5. Of course, my $5+ patrons still get access to everything they’ve always been used to, including weekly exclusive vlogs.
There is one catch, however. If you are interested in taking advantage of this new $2 pledge tier, you must sign up any time between November 15–30. Because patrons are charged on the 1st of each month, this guarantees you access to “Christmas 2015” in late December.
Important: Please make sure your pledges are processed successfully. Because there are always those few who feel the need to game the system, I simply cannot take the risk. It’s important that I keep this fair for everyone involved.
And finally, for non-patrons who are concerned about these changes, everything else remains as-is. My Thanksgiving and Christmas videos will be released as they usually are.
$25+ Pledge Promotions

Phew! Busy month... It feels great to see some changes go into effect. I'm really excited to see the outcome. As always, please feel free to express your feedback. My Patreon campaign is happening because of you, so it's important that I remain on track.
Stay awesome, and we'll talk soon. Enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday!
