Di Franco University: Now Open for Enrollment

Since introducing Di Franco University last February, I have watched the website grow and mature into something I can be proud of. I like to think it represents everything that I have learned over the years as a self-employed content creator, which is why I take great pride in sharing my knowledge with others.

From YouTube tips to product reviews, Di Franco University has always offered a vast array of content — and it will remain this way for the foreseeable future. However, I have reached the point where I feel Di Franco University needs to expand into new territory. The website needs to be more... educational. After all, considering its name, that would make sense.

As of today, I am very excited to roll out the biggest change to Di Franco University since launch. The website, which can also be referred to as a platform, has been completely overhauled. Not only is there a fresh look, but the website in general offers new content from top to bottom. Oh, and you can enroll, too.

Let's back up a bit. Starting from the beginning, what exactly is new?

Completely new look

Perhaps the most obvious change to Di Franco University is its overall design. I wanted to completely rethink how the content is delivered. This meant introducing a new homepage, one that does a better job at presenting what Di Franco University has to offer — especially for newcomers.

Exploring the all-new Di Franco University, you'll immediately notice bold headlines, large banners, and plenty of color. The website in general is now cleaner and easier to navigate, making for a more visually pleasing experience.

Content overload

You thought Di Franco University already offered enough content? Think again, because that was only the beginning. While the weekly articles are not going anywhere, the new website has so much more to see.

One of the largest focuses I wanted to present with this new layout is the ability to take courses. And no, I'm not referring to your typical courses that tend to mentally drain you. Di Franco University's courses are kind of like guides, but with a twist.

At the end of each course is a challenge. This approach quite literally challenges the student (in this case, the reader) to take what they've learned and apply it for real-world results. There are currently two courses available: Becoming a YouTuber 101: Finding Your Fame | Website Building 101: From Build to Launch

Discovering and learning new content is one thing, but what about actually applying it? There have been so many instances where we read something and immediately forget about it moments later. So why even bother reading it in the first place? I'm hoping introducing these courses can change that.

Emphasis on community

How many times have you made something new, only to find out it's not receiving the recognition that you feel it deserves? We've been all there. Believe me, I know the feeling all too well. But that's the Internet for you. It's such a vast place that sometimes it can feel impossible to be noticed.

With the all-new Di Franco University, there is now a dedicated forum for like-minded creatives to share and discuss their work. Of course, it can also be used for asking questions that have the potential to be featured in my YouTube videos.

So, what are you waiting for? Start a discussion. You never know who you will meet or what kinds of ideas will come out of it.

Enrollment is here

Becoming a student at any kind of educational institution requires enrollment, so why should things be any different for Di Franco University? Yep, that's right. You can now enroll (a fancy word for "sign up") to receive exclusive content and updates right in your inbox.

Enrolling is simple. All you need to do is enter your name and email address using any of the enrollment options throughout the website — such as the "Enroll Now" button in the top-right corner. Once you've been enrolled, you will automatically receive emails whenever they're sent out.

And not to worry, enrollment emails will only be delivered when absolutely necessary. In other words, you will never be spammed.

Resources that actually work

Another new addition to Di Franco University is the Resources page. Presented in a clean grid-like fashion, this page contains all the tools and resources that can be used for a variety of projects. Whether you are looking for affordable web hosting or royalty-free music to use in your YouTube videos, this is the page to refer to when working on a project.

And before you ask, yes — these resources are the real deal. Each one was carefully chosen based on my own work experience. If they can work for me, then they can work for you.

And much more...

Needless to say, Di Franco University has undergone some significant changes overnight. There is a lot to take in, which is why I urge you to have a look around and experience everything for yourself. If you find something you're not sure of, you can always get in touch with me using the Contact page.

As always, your support is incredibly appreciated. If it wasn't for the community, Di Franco University wouldn't even be a thing. And for that, I am forever grateful. Here's to the future.

Here's to you.

Announcing Di Franco University

It's hard to believe, but my 10-year YouTube anniversary is quickly approaching this July. To say that the video platform has had an impact on my life would be an understatement. YouTube has changed my life, and in more ways than one.

Not only has YouTube introduced me to a truly amazing community, but it's also inspired me to learn new things and explore a variety of ideas — often through the creation of websites. And today is no different. I'm thrilled to be announcing my newest project, Di Franco University.

Di Franco University, as the name likely suggests, is a content-rich resource that I have created to help others succeed online in doing something they enjoy. Whether it's creating original video content or designing an art piece on your iPad Pro, my goal with this new website is to teach you what I have learned through my career as a content creator.

Looking at the homepage of Di Franco University, you will notice that the website is broken down into four categories of content: Video Content, Creative Design, Passive Income, and Crowdfunding

The above categories are the primary focus of Di Franco University, at the moment. Of course, the website will naturally grow over time. But even if that's not enough, you might enjoy The Vault — a collection of articles curated from previous websites of mine.

The Vault features 40+ articles that have been brought over from Brand Rockt and BluResource, as well as 25 video tutorials from Squarespace Summit. Needless to say, there is plenty to learn!

To get a better idea of the kind of content Di Franco University has to offer, I encourage you to watch my walkthrough video below. It's a little long, but I go in-depth in describing the website and its overall focus. I even provide an inside look as to how Squarespace works, for those interested.

Like any website of mine, I take a lot of pride in giving away the content for completely free. Of course, I have to financially support myself, which is why I have carefully selected three sponsors to appear in the footer: Bluehost, Lynda.com, and Elegant Themes

Of those three, my newest sponsor is Lynda.com. Because I haven't mentioned them until today, I kindly ask you to take a moment to check them out. Lynda.com offers thousands of high-quality video courses pertaining a variety of skills. The ones that particularly interest me the most are Design, Web, Photography, and Video.

If you are interested in learning something new and supporting my content at the same time, please sign up for Lynda.com using this link. I greatly appreciate it!

Well, I think I have described Di Franco University enough. Now it's your turn. Head on over to the website and have a look around. It never hurts to pick up a new skill or two.

As usual, your feedback regarding today's announcement is always welcome. You can contact me at any time. I'm just a click away!

Introducing BluResource.com

It's very well known by now that I enjoy working with and promoting some of my favorite brands. This is especially true when those brands can relate to what I do for a living, and that's creating content to share with anyone who is interested. Hopefully that includes you.

Today I am excited to roll out my newest project, BluResource.com — a trusted source for all things Bluehost. Ranging from helpful articles to a variety of tools that can help enhance the user's experience, BluResource.com has plenty to offer. A brief breakdown can be seen below:

  • Articles & Resources is a collection of content originally created by myself. Here you can find various forms of content that can guide you in the right direction when becoming a Bluehost customer. This content is also intended to be viewed by existing Bluehost customers.

  • The Website Examples gallery is a growing collection of Bluehost-powered websites that are submitted by the community. Not only is this a great opportunity to attract some quality traffic to your website, but it's also completely free to get featured.

  • Going to the Domain Name Search page, you'll find that this is a quick and convenient way of determining whether a specific domain name is available for purchase — all without having to leave the site!

With this new project launch, I am excited to continue my affiliation with Bluehost. Hopefully I can encourage others to follow in my footsteps. Having been a Bluehost customer since launching Brand Rockt last year, I am very pleased with their service — especially due to the fact that I am currently using the Plus plan. Find out why here.

Also, not too long ago, I had a talk with Bluehost's affiliate team. Provided I can generate enough monthly signups, they agreed to create an exclusive discount that I can offer my audience. Of course, it's going to take a little while to get there, but it's still very interesting to think about. Do you think we can make it happen? Sign up now and let's see where this goes!

Like any project I've introduced in recent years, I am excited to grow this into something larger. But to make that a reality, I encourage you to contact me with your feedback. What do you want to see out of this website? Let's create something awesome.

AppNana: Download Free Apps and Earn Rewards

AppNana is a new service that rewards you for downloading free iOS and Android apps. Like FeaturePoints, AppNana uses a credits system. These credits are called Nanas. The more free apps you download, the greater the reward. Eventually you can earn enough Nanas to redeem prizes like PayPal cash, Amazon gift cards, and even the ability to download paid apps for free.

So how is this different from FeaturePoints, exactly? AppNana was nice enough to hook me up with an exclusive offer to share with everyone, allowing for a nice head start. To earn 2,500 Nanas instantly, simply sign up for AppNana by going to appnana.com/thecreativeone and using my invitation code: d861349

To receive proper credit, iOS users must sign up through Safari on their iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. If you're on Android, simply search for AppNana in Google Play and download the app from there. No matter what platform you use, be sure to input my invitation code to receive your free 2,500 Nanas.

I plan to promote AppNana in future videos, so let me know if you have any questions. Enjoy!

How to Create a Website in 5 Minutes or Less

Contrary to what some may think, creating a website doesn't have to be time consuming or difficult. It's actually very simple, provided you use the design platform that works best for you. Speaking from personal experience, I prefer Squarespace for a variety of reasons — which can actually be read about here.

Squarespace is an all-in-one design and hosting platform that makes creating websites more about enjoying the experience and less about worrying whether you know how to code or not. And speaking of which, don't let the simple user interface fool you. Squarespace may appear basic, but it's actually capable at pulling off some very professional techniques.

The setup process in building a website via Squarespace is incredibly quick. Requiring just a few minutes of your time, you'll be surprised at just how easy it really is. Of course, you're responsible for creating content that will populate your website, but getting the foundation in place is the part that's over before you know it.

The video below walks you through everything you need to know, including how to choose a template and create your first blog post. Everything else is explained clearly on Squarespace's website, but I am happy to address any questions or concerns that you may have. You're always free to contact me here.

If you do sign up with Squarespace, let me know and perhaps I'll showcase your website in a future video of mine!
